Rain Shower off Vineyard Sound Lightship by William R. Davis
"Rain Shower off Vineyard Sound Lightship"

To all of you who visited Martha's Vineyard and our gallery this past summer season, it was really wonderful to see each and every one of you.  This was one of the best summers that we can remember.  The weather continues to be incredible - I can't believe we still have the door open in November!  Let's hope this stays for a while longer.

We are continuing to celebrate the work of Duane Alt, who turned 80 this past April.  He has some beautiful new paintings inspired by his travels through Europe, as does Lloyd Kelly

Several new antique charts, mainly of Martha's Vineyard and New England have arrived just in time for the holiday gift giving season.

We are already planning an exhibition for next year when we will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of representing the artists William R. Davis and Lloyd Kelly.  Please stay tuned for further details coming in the spring of 2016.

In the meantime, we hope you enjoy this newsletter and will visit our website to view the works of the other talented artists that we represent.

My best to you,

Christina

DUANE ALT
Contemporary Master French Impressionist

Duane Alt came upon his fascination with and ultimate mastery of Impressionism in a somewhat indirect way. He was born in a small town in Nebraska in 1935 and raised in Southern California.  While still a teenager, he began his formal art studies at the Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles, and in the 1960s, he studied art at the Sorbonne and the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. It was there that the heritage of the Impressionists captured his heart and influenced his personal style.
