John Patrick Flynn

John Flynn was born in Rochester, New York in 1956. As a child he was a daydreamer and at an early age he fell in love with drawing and painting – in what would become a lifelong passion.

He moved to New York City, where he attended college at F.I.T. and also studied at the Art Students League and School of Visual Arts. He became a freelance illustrator in the culturally rich environment of New York and taught rendering at the Parsons School of Design.

Eventually Mr. Flynn moved to the North Shore of Massachusetts and focused more on painting. His work has been shown in several Boston area galleries as well in the Midwest. His portfolio includes landscapes, interiors, still lifes, and portraiture.

Mr. Flynn is a juried member of several professional organizations including Rockport Art Association, North Shore Arts Association, Copley Society of Art, and Oil Painters of America.

John Patrick Flynn’s paintings with their lively colors and joyous play of light upon natural scenes have been exhibited widely at the Art Students League, the American Society of Illustrators, F.I.T., and Wenham Museum.
